The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects for admission into the Masters Program and Recruitment by some Public Sector Companies. GATE 2022 is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and six other Indian Institutes of Technology at Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Chennai, Roorkee & Indian Institute of Science at Bengaluru on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

Here we will be providing you with all the necessary information regarding GATE Economics 2022. This will help you in planning and strategizing your preparation for GATE Economics 2022.


  • Online Registration and application process - 30th August, 2021

  • Closure of online application process - 24th September, 2021 (Regular Period)

  • Closure of Process with late fee - 1st October, 2021 (Extended Period)

  • Display of defective applications for rectification - 26th October, 2021

  • Last date for the rectification of applications - 1st November, 2021

  • Last date for change of paper, category, & exam city - 12th November, 2021 (with additional fee)

Fee Details

Regular Period (30th Aug to 24th Sept 2021)

  • Female and SC/ST/PwD - Rs 750/-

  • All others - Rs 1500/-

During the Extended Period (25th Sept to 1st Oct 2021)

  • Female and SC/ST/PwD - Rs 1250/-

  • All others - Rs 2000/-

Fee Charges for changes / modifications (One-Time Only) in GATE 2022 Application

(from 1st to 12th November 2021)

  1. Change in choice of examination cities ₹500

  2. Change of existing paper ₹500

  3. Add a second paper (from given combinations with respect to the primary paper) ₹500 plus suitable amount per paper for the candidate’s category

  4. Change of gender to female ₹500

  5. Change of gender from female to any other gender ₹500 + ₹750 = ₹1250

  6. Change of category to SC/ST ₹500

  7. Change of category from SC/ST to any other ₹500 + ₹750 = ₹1250

  8. Change from Non-PwD to PwD ₹500

  9. Change from PwD to Non-PwD ₹500 + ₹750 = ₹1250

  10. Any other change in category (not mentioned above) ₹500
