SAU MA Economics


South Asian University or SAU offers a two-year programme known as SAU MA Economics which aims to provide a rigorous and up-to-date training in Economics with a special focus on Economic Development. SAU MA Economics comes with specialization in Economic Development.


SAU MA Economics programme consists of required courses like two each in both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Mathematical Methods in Economics, Statistics, Econometrics and Development Economics. There is also a choice of several elective courses that complement the programme. The programme also requires students to engage in a year-long independent research work leading to their MA dissertation.


SAU MA Economics Entrance Exam Pattern

Duration of SAU MA Economics Entrance Exam will be 2 hours.

SAU MA Economics Entrance Exam Question paper will consist of 40 Multiple Choice Questions.

SAU MA Economics Entrance Syllabus include questions from

  • Microeconomics;

  • Macroeconomics;

  • Development economics;

  • Mathematics; and

  • Statistics

SAU MA Economics Entrance Eligibility


Candidate must have completed12 years of schooling

+

3 year Bachelor's degree

with Mathematics as a subject of study at the 10+2 (12th class) level

or at the Bachelor's level or both from an institution recognized by the SAARC countries government and must have a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate or an equivalent grade.


For Candidates who have a 4 year Bachelor's degree or 2 year Bachelor's degree and have cleared the first year of the Master's programme are also eligible.


SAU MA Economics Entrance Exam Marking Scheme

For every correct answer you get 2 Marks, whereas

For every wrong answer, ¼ marks will be deducted.
