What are GIPE MSc Economics Entrance details ?
Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics or popularly known as GIPE was established ninety two years ago in 1930. The objectives of the institute have been to conduct high quality research on all aspects of economic, social and political issues; and to provide excellent and advanced education in economics and various allied disciplines. Therefore, the research output has included different areas such as demography, agriculture, rural development, social exclusion, welfare economics, monetary economics and finance, public finance, international and others. Most often the research supported by grants from the government and other agencies. Regarding the courses on offer, then GIPE offers degrees at undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. levels.
GIPE M.Sc. Economics
GIPE offers a two year post graduate program know as GIPE MSc Economics, which includes learning, understanding and application of economic theory and policies at the national and international level. The course includes Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Public Policy, Finance and International Trade. The syllabus in a manner such that the students understand the art of application of the subject in real world situations. Hands on software training is also an important key feature of the program. M.Sc. Economics : SUNDAY, JUNE 19, 2022.Timing of Exam:01.30 pm to 03.30 pm
(One Hundred and Twenty Minutes duration)
GIPE M.Sc Economics Eligibility
The Eligibility Criteria is as follows :
The Indian citizens seeking admission to M.Sc. (Economics), M.Sc. (Financial Economics), M.Sc. (Agribusiness Economics), M.Sc. (International Business Economics & Finance) and M. Sc. (Population studies and Health Economics) must secure at least 50 % marks in aggregate
(45% for SC/ST reserved category candidates) at graduation level.
Important Note
Candidates who have appeared for the final degree examination during 2021-22 and whose results are awaited shall also be eligible to apply.
However, in order to be considered for admission to the programme, their results must be conveyed by the candidates, or respective universities to the institute, preferably by fax/speed-post, on or before July 29, 2022. Students may request their respective universities to dispatch their results to the institute in a confidential form if the declaration of results is delayed beyond the last date stipulated by the institute.
GIPE M.Sc Economics Exam Pattern
The entrance examination will consist of 100 objective type questions (MCQ type).
● Each question carries one mark, and the maximum score point is
100 marks.
● The time duration of this entrance exam is 120 minutes.
● The mode of examination is computer screen based exam at the designated exam centres.
● The medium of the Entrance Examination will be “English”.
● There is “NO NEGATIVE MARKING” for wrong answers.
