GATE means Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and it is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, and Humanities for admission into the Masters Program and Recruitment by some Public Sector Companies or PSUs. The exam is organized and conducted by the GATE Committee which includes faculty members from institutions like IISc and seven other IITs which includes IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee, on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. IISc Bengaluru is the Organising Institute for this year's GATE 2024.

What is the scope or opportunities GATE Economics 2024 ?
All aspirants who qualify in GATE can seek admission to Master’s programs and also direct Doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, and Humanities. All this in institutions supported by Ministry of Education (MoE) and other Government agencies. Students also get possible financial assistance as well while pursuing. Further, similar to CAT, the GATE score is also used by many colleges and universities for admission to their respective postgraduate programs as well. Additionally, several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have also been using GATE score for recruitment.
In case of GAT Economics 2024, IIT Madras is taking admission for its MSc Economics course since 2023.

Overall, as per 2024 it comprises 30 disciplines or subjects from which aspirants can give exams. In 2021, GATE Economics was started with introduction of two new papers: Humanities and Social Sciences (XH) and Environmental Science & Engineering (ES). XH-C1 is for Economics.

GATE Economics 2024 Score Validity
The GATE score obtained by the candidates will remain valid for a period of 3 years from the date of announcement of results.
GATE Economics 2024 Test Pattern
This year GATE 2024 will have a total of 30 test papers comprising full papers and sectional papers. Candidates have the option to appear for one or two test papers from the allowed two-paper combinations.
GATE Economics Examination Mode & Duration
The test papers will be in English. Computer Based Test (CBT) [will be conducted at select centers in select cities]. The duration will be 3 Hours OR 180 Minutes.

There is no partial marking in MSQ
