What is Delhi School of Economics MA Economics ?



Delhi School of Economics is one of India’s top institutes especially for Economics. The institute was launched in 1949 and has produced some of the country’s leading academics, educators, administrators, politicians journalists and corporate leaders. Nobel Laureate like Amartya Sen, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have all taught at Delhi School of Economics.

The two year DSE MA Economics program is rated to be one of the best in the country. It combines rigour with relevance, giving the student a thorough grounding in economic theory, empirical techniques and contemporary policy debates. The program have students from not only economics but also commerce, mathematics, and engineering background as well. The amount of exposure students get is huge through going for field work, data handling and analyzing, learning different statistical software packages, preparing presentations and writing reports or papers.


Department of Economics of Delhi School of Economics has started the registration process for MA (Economics) . The candidates can fill the online application form for PG courses at du.ac.in. The M.A. 2-year full-time Economics program consists of 15 courses, six of which are compulsory core courses and nine are elective / optional courses. The programs will last for a period of four years. The candidates who have completed their BA (Economics) with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks can apply for DU DSE MA (Economics) admission 2021. Details about DSE MA Economics program


The M. A. Economics programme is spread over two academic years and divided as Part I or the first year and Part II or the second year. Part I comprises of Semesters I and II, whereas Part II comprises Semesters III and IV. The teaching related in semesters I and III takes place in the summer whereas semester II and IV in winter.


The program requires students to take a combination of Core courses, Elective courses, and Open Elective courses. Further, a student is required to complete a minimum of 80 credits for the completion of the program and the award of the M. A. Economics degree. English is the medium of instruction throughout the program.


Examination


The assessment is based on marks from internal evaluation and the written final examination. The division of marks will be 30 marks for internal evaluation and 70 marks for the final examination. Students may seek revaluation of their final examination scripts and may re-appear for the final examination as per the applicable Delhi University rules.


For promotion, the student must secure 40% or more in the final examination for the course and 40% or more in the total of the final examination and internal evaluation for the course.
