What is Actuarial - CB2 Business Economics?



Economics as a subject, is an integral part of any course and sets the base for everything. Similarly, CB2 of actuarial is one of the important exam which introduces the principles of economics, application in a business context. In terms of the two pillars namely Microeconomics and Macroeconomics below is the coverage:-

Microeconomics - it covers the operation of single markets, market price and output determination, consumers budget and by producers on price and output, and different types of market structures and the implication of each for social welfare.

Macroeconomics - it will cover the working of the economic system, governments’ macroeconomic objectives, unemployment, inflation, economic growth, international trade and financial systems and financial crises.

CB2 is divided into three sections as follows:-

  1. Economic models and recent historical applications (10%)

  2. Microeconomics (45%)

  3. Macroeconomics (45%)
